Default Need a 4g63 rebuild

My roomate just clocked 190k on his gst and nearing the need for a rebuild. Nothing crazy, just some after market pistons and new rings. Maybe even a stock botom end rebuild

so question is
1) Who to go to?
2) How much would it cost?
3) How long will it take?

thanks.

Contact Jimmy or RJ at Direct Performance. 340-1862 As for cost and time, it all depends how far you want to go. FYI there have been a couple 4g63s with ~200k miles on them run 12s on an un-opened engine so unless the compression is down he can wait a while.

i agree. if he's kept regular maintenance, oil changes, belt changes, etc, then i don't see why he'd necessarily need a rebuild. if he can afford downtime and parts, then go for it.

he can't afford down time is the thing. Just want a basic rebuild and we're not gonna do it our selves. He has all the bolt ons, 3inch exhuast, fmic, intake blah blah blah, and its about time to get the t-too small out. So he wants to take out a loan big enough to get the turbo, fuel, electronics and have some laying around for a rebuild later.

If it's a 1st gen do a rebuild
If it's a second gen get a Cyclone
Just my two cents

magnus motorsports
4G64: (A 2.4L 4G63? Yep.)
Stepping the ante up one more time in the quest for more hp, we developed the 2.4L DOHC 4G63/4G64 engine swap for 1st and 2nd generation DSM's. Providing more than 130 extra ft/lbs of torque and 50 more hp. Piloted our race car to an astonishing 10.06 @ 140 mph without the aid of Nitrous, and a new best of 9.623 second ET with a 152mph BEST. Still being able to rev until 8500 RPM.
