speedo stopped working, random pulsating of lights with engine idle ( '01 type R)
2001 Integra Type R
so i was driving home from the gym and noticed my dash lights and all lights in my car were pulsating both at idle and interstate RPMs/speed
about 2 hours before that my speedometer went bizark and then just stopped working all together.
what in the fuck is going on?
pulsating of the lights stopped for now, when I cut the car off and start it back up

^^ This. I had a pulsating lights issue that eventually ended up making everything electrical in my car (including my window motors) pulse. Replaced the alternator and good as new. Plus, my battery/emergency brake light no longer flicker like they had been doing for a year.

x3 sometime the alternator ground makes contact and shit goes haywire...also has there been any aftermarket equipment installed(remote start,alarm)?

yea there's a viper alarm on it but I don't use it very often, I just lock doors and open with a key
what's up with the speedo though
I had a pretty bad scrape to my header trying to enter a car wash, put it in reverse and back out then it started when I pulled off down the street after

Did you get anything in the engine bay wet at the carwash? Also check the status of the grounds at the front of the engine bay.

the reason i asked about aftermarket parts is from my instance. whoever installed my (viper actually) alarm kit they did a very half ass job. about a year later(recently) alot of weird thing started to develop like weird speedo/weird fuel guage/weird ignition response from the key/stalled out quite alot but then i looked at the alarm and noticed a few disconnected wires, then i checked/removed it all and patched where needed and reinstalled the system the proper way..idk if your in the same boat but my situation sucked..GL

Another thing about the alternator and speedo is they run on the same fuse in the under dash fuse box. Fuse could be blown?
