Trying to find a guy - He said he posts here.
I had my car sold - the 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 that I wrecked in the snow, however I did not have a downpayment. In comes a call while I was out working on one of my neons. Guy offers me 1,000 more than what the other had offered me so surely I took it. He tells me he has a car he could offer in as a trade, a dodge neon that was all worked up etc. I go out to his house and the thing was a POS but I still wanted it to mess around with. We discuss matters, he says he needs to get his insurance check etc so I was cool with that. He seemed like a cool guy who I could relate with, said he needed the car to drive because his kids can't ride in the neon because it's too bouncy and they were infants. Anyways, it all made sense and I felt like I was doing a good deed. My friend basically just hands him the signed over title because he wants that neon so bad to start working on. I was a bit pissed over that, so I put a lien on the back of the title.I knew where he lived after all. I also still had the car at a shop, somehow he found out where it was off a picture of it. Then went ahead and picked it up. Against my will from Bayside Transmission. Somehow erased ink on the back of the title depicting a lien. The guy signed his name on a sheet of paper depicting that he owes me $2500 dollars for the Ford Focus I sold him. He signed his name as "Mike Carlson". He lived on 6225 Partridge Drive(or street) off Sunnyside Dr off Indian River (where we did the transaction). So I knew where he lived what he drove, etc. The next few days he kept telling me the money was coming, and it went on like that for 3 weeks. One day I got fed up and I told him he has until midnight to pay me. He told me that he doesn't owe me anything, the car was sold, and that we had a done deal. Never got paid, so now i'm going to have to take this to court. I need to know if anyone knows this guy, all the information you can get off of him, etc. $2500 dollars is alot of money, especially for a 19 year old like myself.
He sold me the WHITE neon that I had spray painted all over, here is a picture of it :http://s95404904.onlinehome.us/Picture%20011.jpg
He also said he used to own a ford contour SVT. I'm pretty sure he said it was blue. If anyone ANYONE knows this guy please PM me or leave a post here. Thanks.

From what I thought I had the car and a lien on the title. So in essence I had everything I needed, even a paper signature. Now the hard part is going to be getting him to pay up.
Also I know where he lives but he rents the place. I've thought of various things I could do in this situation but I believe the best thing to do is to take him to court. I'm wondering if anyone knew if he had a background of doing things like this, etc. I went ahead and researched him in public records and found out everything he's done in the past year or two. But no matter what I am going to get my money. The other reason I posted here was to see if anyone knew that name or if he made it up. Seeing as someone knew a Mike Carlson that was all about neons I guess that worked, don't want to have to go through the dude's mail as that is illegal. If anyone else has any good information about him or knows him please PM me.
Why do people do business with people they no nothhing about and expect them to "pay later"? I hear this crap all the time. If they have no money, you walk away from the business deal. Simple as that.
If your story is true I hope you get what is yours (meaning your money).
