stripped a lug,
anyone seen this before? since these have a female end, the male end is obviously the lug key, which stripped the lug.
how do i get it off? i got a warrenty a tread quarters, but im checking all my options here. my inspection expires in march, so i need to act fast.

Re: stripped a lug,
you can take a mallet and hit it a few times... to break it, but you risk stripping the wheel stud this way also.. you can find a slightly larger size allen bit and whack that in the lug until its tight enough for you to break it loose, or just simply go to tread quarters so they can pull it off and they will be liable if the wheel stud gets stripped ... no cost to you..... all in all, take it back.

Re: stripped a lug,
take a 12 point socket that it slighty smaller than that lug maybe a 19mm or 18mm and get a BFH ( big fucking hammer ) and beat it on there and then get a impact wrench and take it off if not you always by a wheel lock removal kit but that is like 100-200

Re: stripped a lug,
http://www.mototuneusa.com/allen_bolt_nightmare.htm try that. Should allow you to get it off without messing anything else up.

Re: stripped a lug,
its not an allen key though, the wheel "key" is really large. im going to tread quarters tomarrow at 730am, god dammit, and they said they'll take a look at it. and they may have to use a air powered chizel...yikes. i'll try all of your suggestions.
