well, my tranny is now broken on my 89 prelude! why you might ask? well, let me give you the scoop . . .

i'm at the movies, have a while be-4 the movies starts. i meet this guy and he's like, let me hear your flowmaster muffler. so i'm like, sure. we get in the car and i go behind the building. stop, put it in 1st gear. take off normal, than floored it. @ about 5000RPM i threw it into 2nd gear. *GRRRRINNNDD* *POW, BANG, CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK* what the!!! sounded like i missed 2nd gear but with all that clanking and clunking, i was like, what's going on. so i put it into 3rd, let off the clutch and give it gas. NOTHING. i stop, put it into 1st, try to take off, NOTHING, engine just revs. the gear shifter is going into gear, but the tranny isn't engaging (sp is way off, been a long night)
so some dude helps me push my car into a parking space and i notice a bunch of oil (tranny fluid) under my car. then i see metal stuff everywhere. i found like a mini gear, about 2 1/2 inches accross, and some metal chunks.
i borrow a flash light and look under my car. my cat is busted all up.
i couldn't see anything on my tranny b/c it was real dark, and i couldn't get under my car real well. but this is what i'm thinking .. . .

my clutch shattared (sp again) and something came flying out the back of my tranny, hit the cat tore that all up.
and some-1 else said it could be my diff. pin? i just dunno

any thing else yall can think of that whent wrong???
and how much does a used tranny go for, like at a junkyard???

that shit just happened to me on weds going to skool it was my counter shaft..... only i wasnt even going fast at all but i shifted to second and boom clunk not gears went into gear but didnt move my clutch was fine though ..but there was no fluids any where either so iono

 

might have shattered your flywheel.

i got a used h22 tranny for 2200 bucks, and guess what? 3 months later i have no 3rd gear....rebuild it instead...its like having a brand new tranny

 

you paid 2200 for a tranny? what the fuck, you could of bought the whole motor for like 200 more dollars.

 

i did the samething 3 years ago in my crix, it was the differental. all i had to do was buy another 100 dollar sohc tranny. good luck for you.

 

 

If he shattered his flywheel it wouldnt be coming out the bottom of his transmision. What you found my friend is your differental gear, your transmisson is straight fucked. Time to go buy a new one..

That happened to me, I waddled the differental in the case and snapped a few teeth off the gears. But I was at the track running slicks and nitrous. You my friend were driving like an idiot.
