how did you check for a blown headgasket??... piston rings would cause you to have blue smoke.. and im sure if you put a "performance module" in your car it will make things worse

It's not a piston ring. Piston ring would be oil, which is blue smoke not white. White smoke is coolant. So it's either a head gasket or you head has a crack in it. Does the radiator have a lot of pressure when you pull the cap off after it's been running? I'm curious as to how you checked a head gasket without pulling the head off?

He's right head gasket does need to be ruled out, shit sounds better then rings to me, but yes oil rings are a issue in that engine, so I'd start with the head gasket,
Or if u or a friend have access to a down leak testor, an air compressor, that will help narrow the diagnosis

Re: 420A HELP1!
I gave you real advice as someone who drove a 420a powered eclipse, who also rebuilt the entire motor after it spun a bearing.
You didn't say what year car/motor, that's very important, especially since you're dealing with a possible headgasket issue, and these motors have a common headgasket issue.
I understand perfectly the whole "I got it, so I'm gonna drive it" but unless you look into rebuilding for boost and a stand-alone like megasquirt, you won't make any real power or have any decent management.
At that point, the amount of money you'd spend on a sub 300whp car, with a weak, non-performance oriented motor as a platform, you could just dump into a Honda or something else and be way faster and more reliable.
I say they are junk motor's because short of just driving them daily, that's all they are good for. I wouldn't even recommend rebuilding one ever, just get one from a junkyard cheaper. They came in a ton of vehicles.
