I want the turbo version i was under the impression the mp34 was the nickname for the mazda speed

 

No they made 1500 mp3's in 2001 and then made 4500 mazdaspeeds in 03. I have an mp3 I'd let go for $6,000 if you would be interested

do you have any tips on what to look for. I have never had a mazda only mitsus honda subies and acuras

 

In the engine bay 3 body panels are welded together big rust issue there along with rear quarter panels. Make sure the car has set for 6+ hours before they start it up to see if it smokes ( valve seals suck) look at the 2nd o2 sensor to see if there is a non fouler there Pre cats go bad easily and are ~$1,000 from Mazda
