I know that they use to advertise the dates of the auctions in the Trading Post. Some only do 1 a month, some it's like bi-weekly, I guess every place is different.

Because of that show a lot of people turn up for it and bid to stupid high prices.
Also, when you listen to their prices, they always take the 'max retail' value for crap. I'd venture to say you'd be going through a LOT of moldy furniture before you even get any thing of value.
