something wrong?
my friend has a si hatch with a b18b, gsr tranny, stage 3 clutch, cold air intake, and 2.5inch exhuast...he ran at the track today
r/t... .103
60'... 2.635
330... 7.058
1/8... 10.632
mph... 69.26
1000... 13.707
1/4... 16.289
mph... 87.81
feels as if something isnt right...like his trap should be higher at least. Thinks it could be a broken piece on his throttle body which is probably causing the air flow to not go into the intake manifold smoothly...its like in a shape of a "V" and about 1 inch wide gap...so basically the throttle body looks like a "C" instead of a "O" if u can picture that. Could this drop some hp preventing his trap to be higher? Or do you think he should check his timing? Also he knows his 60ft wasnt good...so how do u guys think he can improve on that? Like where are u guys launching at in your b18b's? Thanks..

Re: something wrong?
Go practice your launch....start at 2k rpms and go up.....if it bogs down then u need to launch at a higher rpm, if it spins too much then drop the launch down a few hundred rpm

gen4h22a - the thing is he doesnt have a problem launching...he thinks he needs to launch higher. he launched at 3500, spun a lil and gripped and went...no bog. by the way...the tires are stock michelin xgt v4's
zappas - he just wants to know if that could cause a drop in performance to explain his low trap

He thinks he is launching well, but the 60ft time's don't back that up. He should be able to cut at least a 2.2-2.4 on street tires with that kind of power.
I think stock LS motors trap in the high 80s low 90s so im sure the throttle body problem in condition will have an effect on the HP, which in turn affects the trap.

Re: something wrong?
How do you know its the TB. does it idle okay or go up and down. What do you think the TB is causing? Is it stuck or what. I think it's the driver and the bad 60 will effect the rest of the run aka the TRAP

Re: something wrong?
my bud has a 99 si tranny on his b18b ls engine and ran 14's, can't see why the problem is happening to yours, hmmmm just learn how to launch and you should be fine, check idle and tb and anything else on the im.....
