1994 Nissan Sentra Wont Start !!! Need Advice Asap Please !!!
1994 Nissan Sentra GA16 5 speed
ISSUE SOLVED!!!!!!! THANKS FOR Y'OUR HELP!!!!
This Car sat for about 6 years so I'm told...
Things I've replaced:
-Oil/Filter
-Fuel/Lines
-Radiator flush/Fill
-Spark plugs/Wires
-Distributor
-Fuel pump
When I first got the car nothing came on when the key was turned to "ON"
not a light, not a fuel pump nothing, wouldn't crank or anything.
-I found a broken wire at the battery and hooked it up and the elctronics such as headlights/auto seat belts etc started to work but nothing from the ecu.
- I unplugged the ecu (screw type plug) and checked all the grounds and power and everything going into the ecu seems to be well.
-When I plugged it back in... Everything came back to life and engine would crank.
- The ECU is sending power to the fuel pump but not the grounded/power signal that it needs to turn on the fuel pump. so i hooked up the relay to the battery to just bypass the ecu signal and fuel pump comes on when key is in the "ON" position.
-I'm getting spark I've checked all 4 wires with HEI tester and they all made the jump.
The timing has me set off a little in conjunction with the distributor... 1-3-4-2 is the firing order and everything i find online is that distributor runs clockwise in that order, then other sources say they run counter clockwise...I've tried both with no luck.
I'm trying to eliminate the ECU atm and just cant find reliable sources to tell me the best way on how to do that.
Also thinking it could be flooded from all the times I've turned it to the "ON" position while testing the fuel pump.
or the Coolant temp sensor could be bad, Had that happen on a honda that wouldnt start.
please reply as I will need more then one head to solve this. I'm very knowledgeable with a multimeter so let's have it!

Today I put my noid light on and the injectors are firing... I pulled the spark plugs and they smell like fuel so i'm assuming the injectors are fine, no puddles or anything on pistons but plugs smelled of gas. I used some starting fluid and it started up but immediately died... I'm assuming the gallon or so i left in tank of the old gas has pretty much ruined the 2.5 gallons of 87 i threw in there along with some fuel treatment. I can keep it running with starting fluid though. Any thoughts. timing is good I also checked that today. Would advancing it on distributor help with this any?
