my 2 is a peice! but i still love it. well while i'm on the subject, geek, you wouldnt happen to know why else my car would be running rich and spitting out black smoke would you? the engine temp gauge stopped working too...could that be some sort of thing causing my smoking problem? or would it just be that o2 sensor (i get my o2 tomorrow). because if its the gauge..i know where the wire is broke...and thats right on the actual temp sensor itself. that woulndt be telling the ecu how to mix fuel though would it? i think it might. but i'm not sure, which is why i'm asking. i guess i'll find out tomorrow but maybe you can give me some answer to this thanks.
oh and about saturday, it looks like it might snow on friday. but it was only supposed to be a.m. snow (or says the news). so its still on i guess but anyone got any ideas to where we can hold it?

well, there could be any number of reasons. if there's a temp sensor that's jacked, then you could be throwing codes at the ecu since the ecu could 'see' the engine as 'cold' and in need of fuel from cold start. this cold be a reason you run really rich. you cold also test your coil cause a weak ignition could cause only partial burn.
as for the meet, i am fine whenever as long as the snow/ice isn't too bad. otherwise, once again we'll have to re-organize!

the point i am making is that if a temp sensor is bad, then the ecu thinks that the engine is not reaching op temp thereby giving itself more gas to try to warm itself-up.
