vtec not working?

vtec not working?
I recently did a h22a on a ek hatch 96 i used the stock non vtec wiring harness im using a obd2to obd1 jumper harness i did the vtec wiring i notice the knock sensor was broken im running a p13 now the question is could the vtec not be working cuz of the knock sensor been broken?

vtec not working?
Goddamn it, that's a long sentence. Take apart the solenoid and clean it with some parts cleaner and check your oil. The piston inside the solenoid is probably all sludged up and won't engage.

How bout the v-dak pressure switch, did you wire that in correctly or at least ground it at the ecu to bypass it? everybody wants to hook up the green and yellow fun wire, but forgets that a usdm ecu has a oil pressure switch that will prevent the spool valve from operating. This is still the case with a jdm engine without a switch if you use a usdm ecu. If you have a jdm ecu forget all that I have said here and happy hunting.
