so i changed out the spark plugs and wires and its running like total asshole it sounds like im running open downpipe went to autozone to get the code checked ......they said its multiple misfire .....took it to mieneke to where my friend works they checked it came across some melted wires that fire my injectors so i took almost everything out of my engine bay yesterday and except for the engine and rewired like 10 wires that had gotten melted ....its starts to run good but not under load and then starts running like total asshole .....this is really starting to piss me off ....if you have ever ran acroos this problem by any chance please let me know maybe if the solution works i am willing to PAY A HEFTY AMOUNT OF MONEY to the person that helps me but if it doesnt i cant pay anything.....so i need you the voices of dragva to help me with my dsm

 

Need a little more info: (running like total asshole says nothing)
1. First off, I'm assuming this is a GS-T or GSX (year ? )since you say it sounds like its running an open downpipe?
2. Is it running really rough? Describe it
3. So you're saying it ran fine until you changed the plugs and wires?
4. What kind of plugs did you buy?
5. What kind of wires did you buy?
6. Are you 100% sure you have the wires in the exact order they should be? If so, go recheck them again. If you're not sure, I'll try to give you the order they should be in.
7. What caused the injector wires to melt?? There has to be a reason.

Just for starters. From there, people may be able to help you

 

You rembered to gap them right?

 

You also might want to change the belts. My friend has a 97 RS and his car started to run like ass, so we replace all of the plugs and wires and it didn't do anything. What it was the serpintine belt was almost gone. Try to replace that, especially if you're near or over 80k miles. It only costs $5-10.

 

ok its a gsx (96) i know for a fact that the plugs are in order i used bran new ngk type r plugs and i went from 8mm wires to like 6-7 mm wires but there ngk ....the wires melted because of no prtection i re wired them to have good connection and those wires are fine now and protected but yesterday meineke told me that 2 of my injectors arnt fireing due to the wires i dont know what the deal is with this car but it is frustating so hopefuly this will help out a lil more

 

also how it is running is it will get power if i keep some throttle on it but if i give it too much it backfires to hell and like when i put it in gear it will hardley gets power unless i give it full throttle to take off and when im driving like i said i cant lose any throttle power or give it to much its like its gotta be just right.....could belts cause it to do
that?

 

Yes, that is what happened to his RS, when you would try to take off slow it would sputter and feel like it was going to die, and it would backfire under full throttle and when you tried to take off slowly.
