Today I got pulled over by a state trooper because I have an after market muffler on my car ( I'm sure many of you have one on your car also). To make a long story short, he gave me a ticket. He said I have to remove it and go back to a stock muffler. I really do not want to do that. Is there anyone out there that knows of a way to avoid doing this? I think it is really stupid and I'm sure many others will agree with me. Please help me figure out a way to get this thrown out in court.

No way to get it thrown out unless you change your muffler. Do what I did. Get a stock axle back. So you can take your other muffler off while driving around in town. Then when you want to go to the strip change it to your aftermarket muffler.

Seeing you drive a Civic and probably have a fartcan that's prob. why you were pulled, cops love to pull those type of cars. I would just pay the fine because it will cost you more in court costs and other BS.

change the muffler back to stock and get a cutout.

You're not gaining any power from an aftermarket muffler anyway. You're just making your car noisy. To do that, just take your stocker, cut it open, rip all the guts out, weld it shut and put it back on your car.... Jesse James style

Take your entire exaust off, mount your stock manifold upside down and cut a hole in the hood for it to vent. 100% stock and loud as fuck

How do I do that? Can I do it myself or do I have to take it somewhere?

Most import mufflers are bolt ons. Go under the car and look for yourself.
