ok,

the ADHD idiot that i am, i was impulsive and decided to paint my rims...needless to say it went real bad. i tried to remove the paint when my parents found out, and it removed the original alloy color of my rims. so i am left with a terrible looking car now. i need either prof. advice on how to repaint these "silver" again, or anyone who will take my up on the offer to do it for me. it'd have to be a 2 part process, b/c i only have 2 steelies (dont ask me why, its a long story)....anyone local please. my dad is furious right now because he bought the rims as an xtra present w/ the car back in june 03.

what does the finish of the wheels look like right now?

 

the finish was originally a silver alloy color. i used paint stripper, dont ask me why, and it removed not only the black that i sprayed on, but the original alloy/silver finish. so now it looks all corroded (SP)

 

sand it with a fine grit sandpaper to get it smooth, spray some primer, then paint with your desired color...use index cards to keep the paint off of the tires, or you can tape it off....

 

what grit paper should i use? isnt there an index that it goes by? also what spec type of primer? what brand of paint should i use to paint em?

 

Use 180 paper and self etching primer

and i've had very good results with duplicolor wheel paint from autozone/pepboys/advance....

 

can i see some examples of what you guys have done because my dad is being a cock. he is sayin that you cannot sand rims. basically he is telling me to buy a whole new set, and i CANT afford that. i fucked up, but im trying my best to fix this.
