Price: $1500 OBO - MOTIVATED!
Description:
for sale is my 1987 VW Scirocco 16V. It is tornado red over black leather. 5-speed with 206k+ on the clock.
This car is more or less a project. It does run and drive fairly well but would need some work and tlc before I would consider this a reliable driver. I do start it often and drive it once or twice a week. This car has sat for sometime before I got it in March of this year. It had been neglected by it's PO's and needs lots of deferred maintenance. I bought it running but barely, the alternator was toast so the battery was not charging. I've replaced the alternator, all bets and tightened the pullies so there is now proper tension and charging is not an issue. Cold starts are tough but once it warms up it starts and idles fine. The tires are older but still serviceable.
The body and paint have seen better days as there are many dents and gashes plus the paint is old, faded and oxidized. Good news is that there is no rust. The interior is fair with the real bad seat being the driver seat which has a few rips and split seams. The rest of the interior is good and the dash is crack free.
I am a motivated seller, I need to make room for a new addition to my car family so this one must go. for a VW fan who is motivated to work on this it would be a good base for a project. Texting is the best way to get ahold of me.
