Battery Re-location
my stock battery weighed 42 lbs. an alternate solution is to go with a hawker odyssey, i did that and it freed up that corner of the engine bay nicely as well. only weighs 12 lbs. and very small. the little guy only works if you don't run a big system and such though... i have only a CD player and guages to power, so it's enough power for me.

If you want to do something with the battery, I would recommend just getting a lightweight one like the one mentioned above (I have it as well model PC680). Don't worry about re-locating it. The weight savings will make a nice difference (I saved almost 30 lbs in my case).
I'm with Jim.. Just get a lightweight battery.
There is a company called RedTop I think that sells a battery that is like 5-6 lbs.
You arent going to see any preformance differenace by moving a battery or getting a lightweight one if you not out racing. Whats the point to move your battery in your daily driver.
As far as Autocrossing TIRES should be everyones frist mod. In any racing you are on the edge of traction all the time and if your not your not pushing hard enough.
But before you put any $ in the car come out and see whats going on. People will be glad to help you with any questions.
Good luck
Michael
