Default First mods for a bike...

What would be the first things you guys would customize on a new bike. I figured I would get a fender eliminator kit and a frame slider kit first. I've looked at some sweet rims online but have been out of the bike scene for awhile (15 years....damn I'm old). Anyways, if money wasn't a concern, what would you guys do to a new CBR600RR? steering damper, carbon fiber, etc?....

Thanks in advance, hope to see you guys around....
I might give you a ride Bobby....you hobbit-looking Frodo bitch

Mods for a 600RR???????

NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I would do.................but that's just me.

It depends on if you want your mods to be for looks only, performance only, or mods that do both at the same time.

Rims for looks are childish. Now rims that are lighter but look cool at the same time..........that's worth it. Frame sliders can look good and they'll save your engine in a wreck (don't expect them to save your plastics as well, that's NOT what they're for).

I wouldn't bother with a fender eliminator kit, just do a nice looking chop job or remove everything altogether. You don't need blinkers in the state of Virginia so they don't matter.

Carbon fiber is played out in my opinion. Bikes are getting to the point that cars are: when you do mods you look like everyone else, keeping it stock looks original.

Be CAREFUL when polishing a frame.

When you polish those weld beads down to nothing you're playing with fire.

frame sliders aren't even really a mod, they are a necessity

next i'd get some small short stalk turn signals... considering fender eliminators are like 180$ and nothing more than a simple bracket, i would just make your own out of some bracketing from Lowe's, my friend did that and his actually looks better than my friend that spend 200$ on the compition werk's fender eliminator... then i'd do a slip-on exhaust, just for some sound and better look... depending on how you ride, if you do alot of wheelies or ride hard i'd get a steering damper since it doesn't come w/ one... if you ever feel like it needs more grunt then sprockets would be the way to go... maybe a tank guard, how about just getting the lips of the rims polished, something different, suttle, and not as much maintainance as a fully polished rim and cheaper than chrome
