I meant to post this before, but i took my bike in for state inspection up at Casey Cycle, and they guy there said that my front flush mounts were illegal (they dont meet DOT approval). So i was like okay, and then he says you dont even have rear ones, i said i do, they are integrated. Then he says, ok thats good. But then i say, but you still wont pass me because as long as i have the back ones on it will be illegal because i dont have the front ones right. He chuckles and says, yeah ur right. He says well, just take it home and unplug those and remove the front ones.

State inspections are kinda stupid in some respect (im glad they have them cause some things shouldnt be on the road). I would have brought it back if in knew i wouldnt get caught in a shitty down poor, but all this time i thought flush mounts were legal.

Oh, and he said the intergrated ones were illegal too, because they arent 9 inches apart? This was all suprising news to me.

 

State inspections are just another way for VA to steal some "tax" money off of you.

A LOT of cities/counties all over the Country dont have them

 

Telling me this just gives me another reason to stay angry at "the man."

 

take it to a car dealership, they don't know bike laws very well

but yea thats all true, they denied me inspection at work because of my signals, our trooper that monitors inspections is a fucking cock so they can't even move on the rules in the slightest, he's waited in the parking lot before and busted people who got inspections

As Del said; but don't take it to a dealership: take it to a Texaco or something. They don't know the laws very well so you'll pass no problem.

Integrated's are illegal. But like the dude told you; you don't even need blinkers at all. Just remove them completely and you'll be fine.

Va is one of the dumbest states for vehicle inspections anyway. Did you know that if you put aftermarket fog lights on your car and they don't work that you're supposed to fail your inspection? How gay is that?!?!?!?!?!?

 

I've NEVER heard of someone failing for flushmount turn signals. They are amber in color right? And stay lit when not flashing? As long as those two criteria are met they are fine.

But like I said; just take it to a Texaco or something.
