I have an 89 240sx with a swapped de. The motor runs great and everything. My only problem is the speedo and reverse lights don't work. I figure it is something not plugged into the tranny right or something along those lines. Can someone post the wiring diagram or whatever it is supposed to look like going into the tranny. I have already swapped out the gauge cluster for the dohc. Thankyou in advance.

I see what you are saying but there is no empty plugs on the tranny. There is however an extra plug. I am thinking whomever originally did the swap didn't splice something or missed something. That is why i asked for a diagram or picture so i can clean it up.

 

do you have a the dohc speedometer?

 

Go to the junkyard and find a DE with everything in it and take a look.. then see if there is a difference in the clusters. I'm pretty sure there isn't much difference except the SOHC to DOHC. Is yours a coupe or a hatch? Coupes have the digi speedo and the hatchies don't.

 

I already changed it to a dohc cluster. The only thing that the new cluster changes is it reads RPM's.

check your tranny speed sensor.. someone could have cutted it so they cane get rid of the speed limitor... check ur fuses too

 

there is a switch/plug on the tranny, next to the shifter(underneath) that is the reverse switch/sensor. the two wires from it run forward to the lower engine harness.
