From what i know you can build a d-series motor, but i dont think you will be able to get the same power out of it like u would with a b series motor. If you do the correct setup it shouldnt blow if u slap a turbo on there. But it is possible. I do remember that there was a Civic Hatch that had a built D series on it and he had it turbod, and he was taking some LS turbos. So it is possible.

i have more respect for people with built d series motors. yeah, its easy to swap a b16, and parts have more availability, but in the end, id rather see a built turbo d16y8 spanking bitches on the daily.

To answer about the turboed "D" I don't know. I don't have the funds, to that anymore.
About building a d-series. I have learned so much from doing so, port and polishing, putting a cam, servicing a cylinder head, tuning with my vafc, fabricate this and change that. It was an expensive $2,400. The experience that I learned was great, I am sure if I had the B-series swap I would have left it as it is. I can't compare against a normal ex because mine is a mini me swap. I do have to admit that the car is much better now in comparison from before. And no, I cannot even come close of beating a b-series even with all these mods.
I have but a few months with my car, atleast. My father is looking forward to taking it over while I will be gone to Okinawa for three years. I do have plans of buying a whole gsr swap front clip to swap into it. (engine and goods)
Most likely I am going to have nitrous or turbo if that idea falls through for now.
