Never really tried it out, don't drive on the highway all that much. Would be cool if it worked

I have actually done this before. I watched 2 truckers do this one night on 64 when they had one lane closed. I was wondering why they were traveling so slow blocking both lanes and slowing traffic. When I was able to see about a half mile ahead all i saw were brake lights.. but we were traveling along at 40mph smoothly.. as the people infront were speeding up.. stoping.. speeding up.. stoping.. They were probably pacing the backup for miles and miles since they are so much higher than the rest of us they can see much further ahead. But it did work. So whenever im in a traffic jam i do the same. I try to figure out an average speed.. stay at that speed no matter how far of a gap there is infront of me. I usually can do this thru the entire traffic jam without hiting the brakes unless there is a major accident and the traffic is really bad.. But I assume with enough advanced notice.. you could probably still apply this driving technique in those situations as well.
