Thumbs up which car to start ?

Im about to buy abother car to make it my "race car". I already have a daily driver,so i dont care about comfort. I think found a pretty good deal, this guy is selling his 96 integra, comes with a ls/vtec swap that needs to be put together and in the car, the only thing wrong with the car is it needs the hatch. This car will only be drove on the weekends and track and what not. My plans for which ever car i get is going to be turbo, and to be able to goto auto-x's and the track every once in while. The only thing is ,i know integras are pretty heavy. Which other cars would be good to buy as a shell to build from scratch. I know a lot of people seem to build eg's. I dont really care if its a honda. Thx for any input.

if youre concerned with weight, just buy a crx or an ek hatch and call it a day.

anything you can put inside an integra, you can put inside a crx (with the exception of maybe an h22 turbo). theres damn near 1000 lb difference in the weight though. crx is a much better platform to start on, simply because parts a time a dozen, they are just as easy to build as an integra, but also shells only cost 300-600 bucks to get started. plus, if you fuck up on something on a car that costs 300, its much easy to replace than a shell that costs you 2500.

i beg to differ.

the integra is a better platform to start from. if your not looking to invest butt loads of money. already has better suspension better brakes and a stong as hell motor. gut it and it makes the difference in weight.

with a crx yea you can swap the motor. but then you have to mod it twice as much as a teg. what do people with crx's use. gen2 integra shit. i wonder why........

i disagree mark. yes you already have the b series to start with, however even gutting the car you wont make up nearly the difference. i also disagree with the statement of the integra having better brakes/suspension. i have owned both an integra ls and a crx si, and the crx, even without power steering kept to the road much better than the integra.
