stripped tensioner bolt... help!
anyone have the slightest clue what way to go about getting this off? i fainally got off my ass to finish getting my car running since my friend just bought it off me, and all i have left is to replace the tensioner and put the timing belt back on, HOWEVER, the bolt on the old tensioner is stripped all to hell from whoever did work on it last ( a friend of mine ). so now i have this problem and have no clue how to go about it. the motor is a b16 in a crx, so theres only about 4 inches between the bolt and the fender well.

if you're not concerned with saving the tensioner...
take a sawzall to the head of the bolt until it is cut completly flush. pull off the tensioner pulley, and use a GOOD set of vicegrips to remove...
or take it to a machine shop

sears has a socket set for grabbing stripped bolt heads. works really really well. go there and ask for it. they look like sockets with twisted teeth inside them that are sharp to grab the head of the bolt. they work very well. i've had to use them on occasion.

I use an impact wrench to eventually get the tensioner bolt off. They do sell pulley removal kits to make this kinda thing a breeze.

you could take a grinder or cutting wheel and cut a slot into the bolt head, get a flathead screwdriver head for a ratchet and get it out that way, or use a left handed drill bit.

if memory serves me correct, its a 14mm bolt-
Try using a 13mm and tapping it on, i've had to use a dremel to shave bolts to make a smaller socket fit, but hell...it worked.
