Default Prelude : supercharged or turbo?

my boy has a 00 lude and wants to know which would be the better go for power. He can get a jackson racing setup with fuel system and vtec controller for 1600(he just bought some new headers also). or he can get a full turbo kit without FMIC or fuel system for 1400. he not looking for more that 300WHP, can he make it with the supercharger system because he likes the cleap look of it.

if he gets the turbo, definately get an IC....fuel system done right (which is the only way i do them, but you can get away cheaper, but more apt for something to fuck up) is gonna cost some more.

i know the JRSC uses an FMU, an additional controller, and a new pump too i think, along with one hella fuckin complex belt routing!

but, they are quick...boy at VT has one on his.

b4 charger i got around 175 ho to the wheels..after i got 243 to the wheels with 200 ft lbs of torque. only thing that sucks is the small belt that constantly needs changing. but...if it breaks...you can still drive the car. with a turbo setup...it breaks..your stuck.

so far, he just bought headers, and he has a greddy full 3' cat back. he could use the spray to get 50 more hp but he want power thats always there, is there much he can do to get to get that 290whp range? more boost and more fule?

if you want a SC that is going to make good power at higher boost, a roots style (JRSC) isnt the best for that. a centrifugal one is better...but if you are going to do that, do a turbo instead....its free power

but, running higher boost you start to get into reliability issues....

true....also with a turbo...you will have to build the engine for higher boost levels. the supercharger is built for the stock motor internals. the most i get is around 7 or 8 lbs of boost, which is plenty i think. i cant even get all the power to the ground.
