Head into the mountains and get a map of fire roads inside one of the National Parks out there. Then make sure you got permission to use the fire roads (you may have to pay a small fee to do it). Or, when it starts snowing, beat the plows out to the roads and drive on any unplowed roads. That is the legit way to do it. The illegit way is to just find a piece of land that looks fun and just go wild on it.

The 4wheeling options suck in this area, that is why I had no problem going from a lifted 4x4 to a car.

Also, if your going to go 4wheeling solo out in the mountains, make sure you got a CB radio on you b/c cell phones don't always work out there. A winch and a hi-lift jack are also good things to bring along.

there is a place that is right behind next to Dullas Mail Place the big mail building you drive down that road and look right..... right b4 you get to the end where you have to make a left and there is a road that goes down into the woods and if that is blocked off make a left and go down till you see a parking lot on the rightand there is a path off the parking lot that goes right next to i think is 66 and then it goes into the woods. dont go in when there are cars around b/c sometimes there are cops. They really dont care that people offroad there but its the people that go there and dump shit and set stuff on fire. if you cant go there or want somthing really easy. good place for beginners. Go down 7 west make a left at the light right b4 River Creek Parkway and go down that road untill you get to the end its where Pev's At AG PaintBall is. there are gas lines trails and power line trails there that are fun good stuff for beginners. have fun.

Funny you should mention this, I was considering making an events thread.

The VAXC (Virginia Xterra Club) is having a wheelin' meet in GWNF (Harrisonburg on I-81) in mid-September. I know it is mainly for the Xterra guys to get together, but there aren't that many of us, an dI know of at least one Land Rover and one F-250 are going with us. So maybe another outsider wouldn't matter. Can't lose anything by logging onto the forum (www.vaxc.org) and introduce yourself in the thread (a link will be under events on the main page).

I'm just a 2WD stocker, but I'm going to hit as many ails as I can, last time they went out there, a pretty decent truck almost conquered a hole that is famous for swallowing Jeeps and alike. They mainly just trail and drive down the river for a while. Stock Xterras will own almost any other vehicle in bone stock form.
