Default A/C purging

This past weekend, I did the changeover from R-12 to R134a for the AC on my car. Everything was fine all weekend, nice cold A/C, no problems.

Today I was sitting at a light and I heard a sound like someone was purging nitrous.

Any idea what this might be? Did I overfill the A/C?

its purging as a safety device called either a high or low side pressure relief valve... something in your ac system is not working correctly. If this is on a ford check your compressor for good operation, make sure there is no clogs in the lines and everything electrically with the ac is in good operation (a/c cycling switch, etc, etc)

Also you may have to run a dignostics on it as well. Could also be an electrical problem as well. Good thing you converted, R12 is expensive.

that might be possible as well, if overcharged the system will create exxessive pressure and be released into the atmosphere
