Default how often do chains fall off a bike?

I saw this dude today driving his shiny new blue Yamaha bike, he made a turn at damneck and london bridge and the chain came off the bike.
does this happend often?

I havent heard anything happen like this.. maybe it was put on wrong or loose.

they break from time to time, but i've never ever heard of one falling off... and i had a friend once that had 10 teeth left on his 40+ teeth rear sprocket, it jumped teeth like a bitch but never even came off the sprocket

poor bastard...what kind of chain was it? was it bling bling? mad ice on it? i would've picked it up and taken it to a pawn shop...must be loaded to put a chain on a bike.

err...nevermind, wrong type of chain...

crazy...never seen or heard that happen till now. it looks like the chain snapped.
