Steps to painting rims
plain and simple...i looked up search and nothing poped up so if someone that has painted rimes before please go step bye step as to what they did and what they used ...and anything else....thanks
get some wheel cleaner and clean em, let em dry and then get a red 3M scuff pad from parts store in the body work section and scuff the rims real good. then get a clean towel or somthing and wipe the dust off of the wheels. then paint away. remember, several light coats are better than one thick coat. let it dry in the sun and then clearcoat if you want.
get a couple cans of carb cleaner/brake parts cleaner...that shit destroys the clear coat/paint/finish on rims. and pretty much what eclipse said. its not a good idea to do these outside if there is a breeze...dirt will just stick to that paint.
i did my previous wheels on my 4 door in 40 degree weather with the wind blowing and they came out excellent. just depends on the painters i guess. are the wheels already on tires?
no not air craft remover just brake cleaner or carb cleaner.. make sure you take some masking tape and tape the tire off before you do any painting ofcourse.. don't sand too hard or you will make deep scratches and you will see them like a mother fucker
