ANyone know what happened in 66 tonight?
Drivin from Manassas to rt.28 on 66.. like a half mile before rt. 29 traffic slowed WAY down and i see a number of cars and big rigs pulled over on the right -- and a car upside down and pointed the wrong way on a hill on teh right hand side. The top was crushed -- i couldn't even tell how someone could have been pulled out of it -- however there were a buncha ppl around smoene on the ground. Couldn't see any other vehicles involved. Emergency vehicles hadn't arrived yet.
Any details? Hope everyone was ok. Hate to say it-- but i don't see how everyone could have been alright after that... scary stuff....

ya cause dick head cops sit out there and ticket people all day long....causing a bit of anxiety for some drivers who don't want to be caught speeding, especially those who have been ticketed before. Then, there are some people who weave in and out of traffic, at higher speeds, and 'aggressively drive'. The combination of the two is what causes many highway accidents.
If speed limits were realistic..and then adequately enforced..there'd be alot less accidents on highways. Also, if people didn't lose their liscense (Double Jeopardy) from the DMV when they got speeding tickets(Or raised insurance rates, triple jeopardy*), people would be much more at ease about driving where cops are known to hang out. People shouldn't be so wreckless, weaving in and out of traffic and such, but at the same time, speed limits in some areas need raised. I think all in all it would cause less problems.
*It's a requirement to have insurance on all vehicles in the state of Virginia, except when an owner chooses to pay a Non Insured Motorist Fee, and they can only do this if they don't have a lien on the automobile.

VA needs to adopt an operating procedure that the MD State Police have in place. Basically, the MD State Police don't pull people over on the DC or Baltimore Beltways during rush hour b/c they know that they will create a traffic jam from all the rubberneckers looking over at the flashing lights to see what is going on.
