insurance buybacks????
just curious if anyone has totalled a car and then tried or have gotten parts back from the car.....
like rims for instance....
just curious if you can do that and if they are steeply priced on getting things back

usually insurance companies will allow you to get the aftermarket equipment back especially if you have the stock parts to put back. I'm sure you have every right to do such before the car is turned over to the insurance company

i totaled out a 96 civic hatch and it only cost me $300 to buy it back and then they gave me a check for $3200 after that. but i didnt have any kind of after market parts on it considering i just bought it.
you have a set time frame to get your parts off the car, but they are kinda picky about it. some dont give a shit, while others are nazi's. all depending on what the value of the car is, you can usually buy it back for a set sum (usually what the going rate at salvage yards is) i have seen some as high as 4k before.
When i went to get parts off of my car they were pretty cool with it, no one gave me shit about taking the DMI w/ chip, CAI, and some other goodies. Couldnt get the wheels though because they were bent/broken
