Looking for a good person/place to do a small project for me. To make a long story short, I need a custom made faceplate for a console. If anyone knows of a person/place that does great work, please leave a reply. Thanks.

Ask around at some marinas and get someone that does boat stuff to do it, they're often the most talented with different sorts of fiberglass work and could most likely do somnething like this for you also

Thanks, will give them a call today.
True, they should do good work as well, but I'm looking for a shop that can show me some of their custom work they've done for cars.

I'd help you out but it's right in the middle of the semester, too busy.. I have shitloads of carbon fiber scraps and I'll sell you a piece of carbon fabric for a few bucks if you want. I can't do the work but I can help with the materials.. Just tell me how big a piece you need.

Appreciate it, but I just need this piece molded in with fiberglass. It's a relatively small project, I just don't have any experience working with fiberglass.

Nate, all you need is the right preperation and some mold release to make a mold from the fender you have now.. Carbon is fairly easy to work with, it is limited by the weight, type, and bundle size of the weave though. It's a woven fabric after all, so you have to work within the limitations of making a fabric conform to contours. I've got some nice long offcuts if you want to make your bike fender..
