B16 problem, please help!
Hey guys, I have a 1993 del sol S with a swapped jdm B16. I have been having bad luck with this thing since the swaps done this summer. The synchros died on reverse and 5th so I had to get the thing rebuilt and that cost a ton. When I got my car back from the guy who did the swap he said the Idle Air Control Sensor was missing and he put a "blank plug" in so the car would start( but the shop that did the transmission said the IACV was there and did not know of any sensor for the IACV)?, also that a plug near the TPS and throttle body was cracked. Now for the problems, the revs jump at 1500rpms to 1600rpms, which sucks if your driving and you hit that area in the rev range, it shakes the shit outta my car. Also whenever I hit the gas or let off the gas the car violently shakes, and sometimes the pedal would seem somewhat stuck when Id get into the car in the mornings at first. I know the throttle cable from my old motor was used, and the spring that its connected to was from the new motor, and the spring seems very stiff at times. Does anyone have a clue as to what would be causing these problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you might need to take your throttle body off. honda put these wierd screws (the us motors anyway) that dont' allow you to loosen them. i cut a slit into them and used a flat head and replaced them torx bit screws. hope this fixes it.
also i had a problem where the idle was 2,000 and stayed there. it was the plunger in my iacv. i took it apart and screwed it back in.

Re: B16 problem, please help!
Thank you for your help man, Ill check the TPS and throttle body tommorow morning, my idle seems normal which really makes this tough to figure out. Right now Im really concerned with the throttle making the car shake, cause I have a sweet 80 mile round trip commute everyday, so hopefully Ill figure that out tommorow.

Start by getting an IAC valve, if you don't have one as that will help with the idle. Also look into vaccum lines (make sure there are no leaks) and the tps sensor to make sure its calibrated (closed throttle ~.5 volts to WOT ~4.5 volts). Good luck!

The IACV doesn't matter unless the throttle plate is completely closed, so it's not that. Also, you would get a IACV CEL if you had a big problem with it (or if it wasn't there)...
