I don't find them all that bright. If they hurt your eyes, they're probably just angled wrong. Personally, I always find them distracting how they constantly change colors in your rear-view mirror though. Fake ones should be illegal though. They are so ridiciously dim, I wonder how anybody drives with them. Especially those super bluish ones.
