They are not hard at all on 4g63's. btw, vfaq is your friend. Here it is for a 1st gen. Unless you have a 1.8 it'll be he same for the most part on both awd and fwd. http://vfaq.com/mods/clutch-1G.html

I think I'd take my car to Martin's before I'd take it to the Sports Car Clinic. I talked to Martin, and he said the labor would be approximately $400 for a clutch install on my 1.8T. I was kind of disgusted when I started calling around to find out local prices, because the shop I'm buying my clutch from in Texas does clutch installs for $200-250.. Would almost be worth driving there to have the clutch installed.

1g's are childs play. i could get yours out and in within 5 hours max.

mine on the other hand 24 hours. stupid engine mounts and needing to support my own engine.

All you do for your 1g is drain the tranny, take out 2 mounts, a few sensors, the pass side strut (if you want the extra room, or you just push it out enough to move the axle) and unbolt the tranny. The only thing I hate about taking out a tranny is getting it back on, and taking off the axle because you need some kind of huge socket and wratchet to remove the huge nut that holds your discs on.
