VW Corrado's any good
Can anyone give some info on the VW Corrado's. I saw this one online and i know a few things about VW but not much on the Corrados. What are the pros and cons to these things. Here is the one I saw for sale.

Corrado's are awesome, but in all honesty they can be quite a headache at times. Most are plagued with electrical or mechanical gremlins. The one pictured there apparently is a G60 model (supercharged 4-cyl). The motors are built very solid (forged internals), but the supercharger can become a grenade around 100k miles. Make sure it is running a new charger if you plan to buy it.
Basically, my recommendation is that Corrados are meant for hardcore VW enthusiasts who don't mind having a few problems from time to time. I would buy one in a heartbeat (Corrado SLC w/ VR6) if I had some extra cash laying around.

everything he says is true. i own one and had to take it off the road just so it won't see anymore miles. i am slowy getting all the electrical stuff taken care of, but as of now, i had a spark plug with bad treads and fucked up my head. so i'm rethreading it and putting him back on the road. i wouldn't trade it for the world.
it's a 92 slc.

I have a friend who's owned like 9 of them so far. They're great, fun cars with a lot of personality... but if you can't work on a car yourself, stay away from the Corrado.

Oh yeah - a garage is nice, too . . . and marry your mechanic.
corrados are excellent vehicles. handling, weight, speed when tuned. are awesome, but from two people i know with one, learn the car, and have plenty of tools and time. they require love and attention like a 5 foot 5 supermodel on a new york runway.
