are these reliable or no? getting this done for my block because my headbolt threads are gone, any opinions?

They are fairly reliable. The tap kit is expensive though. We install them all day long at my machine shop.

I agree, they are fairly reliable, I've used them on my exhaust maniflod studs which required a fairly high torque setting. Good stuff.
