for people who are looking to swap a motor in their honda. here's some word of advice.i had a stock ls motor in a hatch and have raced many hatch's with b16's and gsr motors. have only lost to the gsr with mods on it barely..... im just saying for the $1000 to $1500 extra you pay for vtec, its not worth it. you are just buying the name.

id have to say ....EXACTLY.........ls motors compared to any b series vtec motor is just not that amazing, now you put a turbo on that and itll be a different story, cause i can take out b16 hatches in my heavy ass turbo integra, hell ive taken out a b16 turbo hatch in my teg, it was close, but i beat him by 3 tenths, he beat me to the 60 foot box, but after i hit 3rd it was over for him.....and shit cant forget tuckers cars taking out a 92 gsr turbo hatch, haha, that was comedy right there, i felt bad for the guy with that hatchback.........wont mention any names.......

hey i never said that vtec cant produce alot of power. im just saying that its not as good as everyone portrays it as.. i know the type r motor is probably one of the best motors honda has made....but how much is it gonna cost? at least 5 grand for the swap... i got my ls swap for 1100 and if i put 4000 more on the motor and tranny, then itll blow the type r out the water.
