Default Selling a car on EBAY?

I was just curious if anyone on here has ever sold a car on ebay? Is it worth the hassle, how much is shipping and how hard is it to ship? How much does ebay charge for the sale? About how close or over blue book can you expect on average? Any tips, advice, precautions, or pointers would be much appreciated.

Transaction Services Fee
eBay does not charge a Final Value Fee at the close of Vehicle listings on eBay. Instead, eBay charges a Transaction Services Fee at the time of the first bid on your listing (or if you set a reserve price, at the time of the first bid over that reserve). Just like Insertion Fees, the Transaction Services Fee is either $30.00 or $40.00 depending on what it is that you are selling:

* $40.00 Transaction Services Fee for Passenger Vehicles (cars, trucks, etc.) and Other Vehicles (aircraft, buses, commercial trucks, RVs & campers, and trailers).
* $30.00 Transaction Services Fee for Motorcycles and Powersports (ATVs, high-performance go-karts, personal watercraft, scooters & mopeds, and snowmobiles)

You will not be charged a Transaction Services Fee if:
# there were no bids on your item
# there were no bids that met the reserve price on your reserve price listing

Otherwise, however, you will be charged a Transaction Services Fee whether or not you carry out the sale with the buyer.

yes. if you set a reserve and no one bids above your reserve, you don't have to pay the $40.

What if the reserve is met but it is the bidder that fails to follow through with sale? Are you still responsible for the $40?

yes, but i believe you can file an appeal to have the transaction charges re-imbursed due to a dead-beat bidder. At least you used to be able to do that with regular items
