saw you with a Red FD Rx-7. what happened?

 

yeah dood. how'd it go? we were trying to follow but ended up just turning around. saw you guys going at it on the way back on 460 toward bburg. we were parked on the side

They went at it about 5 times, both of them pulling about equal. James doesnt have his fuel tuned just yet on his 7 so he wasnt able to go at it as hard as he would otherwise, however he said it was very good times. I'm sure Jeff will elaborate.

It's was tons of fun...

We rolled up next to the guy on prices fork, Nick rolled down the window and said "nice car", then asked if he wanted to go out to 460. We must have caught him by surprise because he kind of looked at my car, laughed, and said "what? to race?"...and proceeded to spool his turbo and let us hear it blow off. I, of course, returned a blow-off noise back at him.

Anyway, long story short, James turned out to be a pretty cool guy who recently purchased the FD RX7 and has modified it with a new peter farrell intercooler kit, ecu, exhaust, among other things.

The runs on 460 turned out to be pretty even. We'd kick it in 2nd and he'd almost pull a full car-length on me (probably due to a quicker spooling turbo). By the time we got into 4th gear, we'd be evening it up, and at the top of fourth, I'd be back even with him again.

I definitely under-estimated his rx7...It's a very nice and quick car.

pshhhhh...we're quick, but we ain't that quick...let me throw on straight pipes, upgrade the twins, strap on some nitrous, get a streetport, and then we'll see what happens

Or better yet let me throw in a 20B 3 rotor.......
