Default new vs used

hey guys. i have a kantana 600 for sale, and im looking to move up to a better bike as my 2nd. ive been looking hard at possibly getting a gsxr 750, but it seems that any that have low mileage and that are relatively new are kind of expensive for being used. i would like some opinions on the pros and cons of getting a new bike against getting one in the 00-03 range. thanks

if its a 750 you want stay away from the 2000's, they had a second gear problem that is a nearly $2,000 fix, and if they say its been fixed other than maybe a copy of the repair order you have no way of knowing for sure... but 01 and up are all problem free and some of the strongest and best bikes out there, but as popular as they are you probably aren't going to find many with unusually low mileage, but i wouldn't let a few miles bother me

yep, popular bikes are never all that cheap. I'd look for a higher mileage one though as noone likes to buy bikes that have over 15-20k miles on them. Thats still low mileage as contrary to popular belief bike motors if maintained will last a long time. Plus so many people wreck its not imposible to find a low-mileage engine from a wrecked bike

Going from a Katana 600 to a gixxer 750 might be a little bit of a bigger jump than you might think it is. The Katana's have nowhere near the power of the regular 600cc sportbikes on the market today.

Let him decide to make the jump or not. Lets not turn the thread into whats good for a beginner, or second bike arguement.

Since its your second bike, i say new, but im not the one paying for it. Though there is nothing wrong with getting something used, if its not your first bike, then you want it to be COMPLETELY problem free, because you already got some of the mechanical skills you have by fucking with the first one that you were prepared to have to deal with problems.
