91 mr2 na suspension questions?
1991 mr2 na
In the beginning.... It was eibach sportline springs with basically no shocks. when I changed them out the oil poured out everywhere. this set up rode like shit, sounded like shotgun blasts going off hitting the smallest bumps but actually handled well.
Now it rides nice but handles like shit. it weaves back and forth by itself all over the road. yes its had an alignment. the changes i made are. put back the original springs with new Monroe sensa-trac shocks all the way around. I did change the tire size 205/60/14 which is taller and wider than the stock 195/50/14 size. dont know if this is the cause or something else. should I try a milder 1" drop? upgraded sway bars? different tire size? tanabe under brace?
Please help this car is pissing me off. thanks everyone

That car should have 15" wheels on it not 14" but either way the side wall on those tires is too tall, if the alignment was done correctly the tires are more than likelly the problem. Also check the front and rear tie-rods and make sure those are in good condition.

Re: 91 mr2 na suspension questions?
oil was supposed to pour out everywhere. the oil in the housing is to help dissipate heat generated from suspension travel. all of that crap you mentioned won't help a thing unless the part changed is what was wrong. what you have described doesn't say shit about what the car is doing under 'poor handling' mode. in my guesstimation, the sensa-trac's may not be damping the springs enough. anytime you lower a car, you generally stay with low-er pressure gas. even with a progressive rate spring.

if you would have read before posting. The car is not lowered. factory springs were installed.

you suggested perhaps a drop of the vehicle might help. that's why i posted that the dampers you are using might not do what you think they will do. good luck finding a fix. you seem to know everything anyway.

My bad, i was thinking that all the MK2s came with 15" wheels. Have you tried asking on the MR2 board? http://www.mr2oc.com
