i went to dreamworks for a estimate. they said my roof was oil panned. there is a dent on my roof, not ding. its the size of a bowling ball; like my roof has a groove. they said there are goign to have to pop it up and reinforce it or something. on average, how much should i be charged to fix it?
could you please explain a little more? could i heat roof with a blow dryer and then rub ice on?
No, what he's talking about is like an old wive's tale in bodywork something like that.....It's one of those old stories you hear about but nobody know's how to do it. You heat the surface with a torch, then very quickly apply dry ice to cool it and repeat it a dozen or so times. The only for sure way to get rid of it is to reinforce it underneath with some extra metal or something. I don't know, i'm thinking like $150 for the oil can fix alone.

I can do it, heat shrinking isnt that difficult to do at all. But there are better ways of fixing the metal so it stays in place. Heat is one of the last options unless you know the others wont work.
