line up the splines and hammer it back till it's sitting in place where it is supposed to be. make sure the circlip is still on the end of it (if you are talking about the axle popping out of the transmission).

fixed it... the axle didn't pop out the tranny it was that thing with the 3 square shits. i just pulled out the whole axle and pulled off the boot. hardest part was putting the clamp back on.
