Good manners and a clean record paid off again tonight. Returning from Jay's house about an hour ago I was hauling ass down General Booth, then Damneck, then back through Ocean Lakes to my house. I turn on Old Damneck and see a car make the turn very fast too. As I turn into my neighborhood the lights come on. I'm like "fuck.." I pull over but put my arm out the window and wave him forward so he'll follow me the one block to my house where I pull in the garge and get out w/ my license and registration ready.

Him, "Sir is this your house?"

Me, "Yes I'm the owner"

Him, "Do you know why I followed you over here?"

Me, "Yes sir I was driving very fast and being very loud."

Him, "Do you have any good reason for doing so?"

Me, "I appologize, it was late and I was out for a drive having fun."

Him, "You know you're waking everyone up.... it's late"

Me, "Again I appologize, I wasn't intending to upset anyone."

Him, "Have you been drinking?"

Me, "No I was helping a buddy work on his car" (show him the grease and grime on me)

Then I give him my stuff and he goes to run it.... comes back...

Him, "That license plate there says so slow... you'd better start driving that way."

Me, "laugh, yeah I guess so sir."

Him, "I don't want to have to chase you down again, it's hard to do."

Me, "No problem sir, thankyou for the warning."

 

Holy shit, that cop was very cool. They wouldn't even let me off for not having my front plate on

 

lucky biotch. must be nice driving a domestic. My reckless ticket got me in jail

 

being a smart ass helps too i guess. lol j/p

I kinda felt like I'd get a warning from the start b/c I had no idea where he came from, I mean he wasn't somewhere radaring.... I'm sure he could have made something up but what's the charge? "Uhh... Judge his car is loud, and I saw him going fast." I don't think he had anythign on me that would hold up in court.
