which would you guys prefer? and do both come with holes for windshield nozzles? i heard Seibon is just as good as VIS. what your opinion? thanks

 

i have heard a trillion good things about seibon carbon, and not one single bad thing. VIS seems to have its ups and downs when it comes to quality. I would LOVE to have a seibon carbon hood.

 

i believe VIS is fiberglass shell wrapped in carbon fiber i have heard good things about their quality and fitment and i believe seibon is true carbon fiber (not 100% sure) and heard EXCELLENT things about them

 

are all VIS product fiberglass wrapped like duckbill hood etc.

 

I don't think Seibon is 100% carbon, their prices are too low for that. You're not going to get a totally carbon hood for $500-600.. Twill-weave carbon starts at about $20 per linear yard, and goes up to $50 per linear yard for the common low grade fabrics used in cosmetic carbon pieces like this. (carbon fabrics can be up to $150 per yard for the better grades) Compare that to $2-7 per linear yard for the common fiberglass fabrics used in hoods, etc, and you start to see why most hoods under $1000 have fiberglass cores. It's not a bad thing though, the fiberglass lends a lot to the durability of the piece.
Seibon makes a nice quality product though, I've been very impressed with what I've seen. I'd choose Seibon over Vis, even though the prices are pretty comparable..

 

Seibon all the way quailty is better and it fits better..also i like the weaves better

 

If you're looking for a good carbon hood, you should look into Carbon Creations. I got my hood for 500$ and it is 100% carbon weave with only a fiberglass support.

 

if you want the best hood, get a spoon..seriously...i never seen one fit better or look better..the stiching is awesome on it to

 

maybe im the only one, but i love my VIS hood...

 

i don't know very many people who would be willing to spend 1000 dollars on a hood.

Yes, it is the best carbon hood ever made, but c'mon.... be practical.
