Well I have a courtdate comming up for reckless driving...my 2nd (1st one about 2 years ago) What should I expect if pleading not guilty doesn't work? Also, would it be worth taking a driver improvement clinic before I go to court? Was thinking about www.trafficschoolonline.com. Says on the website not to take it unless specifically stated by the court even if recommended.

 

it says not to? why not? how could it hurt? if you take the class, it will at least show the judge you trying to make up for it. i say do it.

 

Depending on what you got your second one for, you may want to get a lawyer. 2 in <5 years is probable jail time. Driving school would be the last of my worries.

 

also, it wont look good if you plead not guilty AND take driving school. i think its one or the other.

 

good point...I think I'll not take it if I'm pleading not guilty. I told the officer when he pulled me over why I was speeding, I have a doctors note, so I hope it all works out. How good of a chance is jailtime? lol might as well wear some whites underneath....

 

If it's for like 80 in a 55 or some shit, don't worry about it. Just go in and pay your fines. You'll probably lose your license forever or something.

My advice, go there and pleade guilty and be sympathetic with the judge and ask nicely for lieniency. i've learned that VA are dicks about this stuff. if the judge is nice he'll probably place you on probation. Another way you can go is to get a lawyer, have the lawyer speak to the officer before court and more than likely he will reduce it from reckless....<---that mostly works out
