if it's at the dealership, why didn't you have them look at it? It could be 1,000 different things.

no one's going to be able to tell you over the internet what your problem is without any symptoms.

I know this sounds stupid but take it to a quick lube (ex.Xpress Lube/Jiffy Lube) if there's one around you, they will diagnose the problem for free(OBDII Scanner).

they wont diagnose the problem, merely get you the code. and of course, most people will immediately replace a part instead of diagnosing it....

there are over 1600 different reasons for a CEL to come on, i would recommend going to someone that knows what they are doing.

oh yes, definately. however, i have seen MANY instances of where someone went to autozone and had their codes read, and placed all repair attempts at what the code was, not what the problem was. a code dont mean shit if you dont know how to diagnose a problem.

i have had several O2 codes set for things other then O2's, for instance.

but at least he will know

And that is where replacing shit and hoping it will fix the problem starts fucking up your bank account. Did you test drive it and all that? See if it had any problems with driveability, it could be something stupid. My 95 240 always had a check engine light on, EGR, no big deal y'kno.
