Default Have a question about replacement motor

I am going to buy a bike from a guy who caught a bolt between the clutch primary and crank gears on a 95 F3. Where should I go about looking for a "new" replacement motor? What years can I get them from? How much am I looking to spend? Thanks for ANY input you guys have.

Ummmmmmm..........just my .02; but I wouldn't even bother with it. Unless you're getting it for free it's just NOT worth it. A motor will cost you almost as much as buying another bike that runs.

yea i'm with CBR, you could probably pick a motor up for fairly cheap on e-bay, might luck out and get one for a couple hundred bucks, but you really don't know exactly what your getting and you could find yourselt putting way more time and money into it than you originally wanted

if your mechanically inclined, and your getting the bike dirt cheap and get joy out of working on projects then it might not be so bad, but i'd never suggest buying a project to turn into your primary ride, or especially more so if its a first bike, most times you'll end up with a pile of parts collecting dust for 5 years in the back of the garage, or you will get it together and end up with a $3,000 bike thats actually worth a grand... not to discourage you if it is in fact a good deal and something you really want to do
