Default crvtec question

i heard a rumor that with the b20 block because they are a siamese cylinder engine that under high boost/high compression they have a tendincy to have rings go out rather fast...can anyone confirm this?

resleeve the block.....new pistons , upgrade the rings and rods and go with it

it doesnt make the rings weak necessarily, it weakens the cylinder walls as opposed to the other b series blocks...

gotcha, im building an ls/vtec or b20vtec turbo i havent decided yet, my goal is 300whp i dunno if i want to use a non-sleeved ls block, or sleeve my b20 block.

B20 are weak walls yes but they are strong after sleeving...I'm doing b20/vtec i have a b20b right now in my 90 hb civic and it is fast as it stands.........so hit me up and we can talk

i had a high compression b20vtec in my car before but i blew the motor, so this time im going boost just not sure what route i wana go with it

talk to MP5 on here, he runs a boosted b20 eg..

I'm sure he hasn't seen this thread yet, he would of posted in it. He knows his way around boosting the b20.

From what I have heard when boosting a B20 its in the best intrest of the builder to resleeve the B20 if running over 12lbs.

There is a local shop here that I believe they have a boosted B20VTEC with around 600HP or so. Just goes to show the potential.
